OMP-MIS Solutions

Software details
OMP Add-In Modules are a collection of software tools, which add additional and sometimes customer-specific functions to the basic OMP program.

The concept of Add-In programs

Add-ins are extensions to the core OMP MIS, which offer special functions for specific tasks that may not be demanded by all our customers.

Examples for add-in programs:

OMP Maintenance tool: The ‘Block maintenance Add-in programme' is used to reorganize the block-based estate structure in OMP, e.g., to rename, move, split or combine blocks and/or divisions (units) in the OMP main database and related database tables.

Assigning a block to a different estate or division is often necessary when a new area is developed and then the management decides to reassign the blocks to divisions to give each manager a similar responsibility or workload.

OMP Data Collection and Field Visit Form Printer:
OMP data import and export

OMP offers comprehensive and flexible data import and export options, which allow you to exchange data with your other information systems and office applications according to your individual specifications.

Importing data into OMP makes sense for a number of reasons:

  1. You can avoid double data entry and reduce the time operators have to spend to enter data into OMP.
  2. Imported data are immediately available in OMP.
  3. You can concentrate on a single data source to improve and guarantee data quality and reliability over the whole range of information systems in your company.
  4. You can use GPS based data loggers to collect spatially referenced data as input source.
  5. You can define data formats and provide data collation forms (Excel worksheets) to the laboratories, which analyses your leaf and soil samples. When the results are returned, you can directly import the data into OMP.

Exporting data increases the usability of your agronomy database, which allows you to use OMP as your master data source for all agronomy and field maintenance related information needs.

  1. You can use any OMP data for your GIS maps and spatial data analysis needs. The information you use to prepare the maps comes directly from your back-end OMP database system. (Note: besides exporting data, you can also directly link OMP and GIS systems).
  2. You can export (selected) data to handheld PCs to provide reliable and comprehensive historic data to estate and division managers and visiting advisors during their field visits.
  3. You can export selected information as basic data sets for the preparation of specific management reports, budget preparations, long term yield forecasts, etc.
  4. You can export (selected) data to be used as data source in applications like SPSS, StatPack, or SigmaPlot for extensive scientific and statistical analysis.
  5. Filter settings can be defined and individual fields can be selected to export exactly the data you need.
In general any OMP data can be imported or exported. We use standard data exchange formats (mdb, xls, csv), which are compatible with all standard data exchange formats.
OMP Databases for the Palm Pilot

Agrisoft Systems offers the OMP-to-Palm Pilot utility as an add-in software. The tool is fully integrated into OMP and it uses the standard filter and data selection options, which look immediately familiar to the OMP operator.

  • Every single bit of information can be exported from the OMP-MIS
  • Export definitions can be stored, commented, and re-used with different filter settings
  • The number of data export scenarios is not restricted.

The VA (visiting advisor) using a hand held computer has immediate access to a comprehensive history of agronomy information on any single block during his visits in the field.

The OMP library checker is a stand-alone MS Access program, which is used to check your PC for compatibility issues if you run OMP. The program tests the availability and version numbers of direct link library files (DLLs) and verifies the access library references needed to run OMP.

The results of the checks are stored in the database and can be viewed or exported into an excel worksheet.

Return the program or the excel file to Agrisoft-Systems, if you have problems running OMP.
